BOIL MACARONI

  • Boil water + oil + salt in a heavy-bottomed pan. When the water comes to a boil, stir in macaroni.
    Add macaroni to boiling water
  • Use the guidelines on the box and cook macaroni according to package instructions. 
    PROTIP – Do not overcook the pasta — Cooking pasta until al dente is the key to a perfectly prepared dish. Al dente macaroni holds its shape better during sautéing and finishes up perfectly to an appealing dish. An overcooked and squishy macaroni makes the dish look unappetizing.
    Cook Macaroni until Al dente
  • Rinse well with cold water after straining.
    Drain macaroni

COOK MASALA MACARONI

  • Add oil to a large pan over medium-high heat. Add onions.
    Add onions to a pan
  • Sauté for 2-3 minutes, or until the onion softens and becomes translucent.
    Sauté onions
  • Stir in carrots and cook for 3-4 minutes until the carrots are soft and tender.

  • Stir in bell peppers and sauté for a few minutes.

  • Stir in Italian seasoning, chili flakes, cumin powder, and salt. 
    Add spices
  • Stir in marinara sauce and chili sauce.

  • Mix until all the ingredients are well blended.

  • Add boiled macaroni.

  • Reduce the heat to the lowest setting and mix until macaroni is evenly coated in the sauce.

As fresh veggies are added to the Macaroni, I would not recommend you store it for too long. This will make the veggies lose their nutritional value and also their texture. However, leftovers can be stored in an airtight container and placed in the fridge for not more than 2 days.
