Ingredients

MAIN INGREDIENTS

  • 3/4 cup Vermicelli
  • 1/4 cup +2 tablespoon Desiccated coconut
  • 1/4 cup +2 tablespoon Dry mawa powder
  • 1/4 -1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1.5 cup Half and half or full cream milk
  • 1 cup Regular milk
  • 1.5 tablespoon Ghee

Instructions

  • Assemble: all the ingredients..
  • Dry nuts..
  • And half and half.
  • Chop dates into small bite size pieces.
  • Let's begin with toasting the dry nuts, leaving out dates. Heat ghee in a pan, add nuts and on a medium heat..
  • Toast them until light brown in color.
  • Toasted nuts are ready, remove from hot pan and set them aside.
  • In the same pan, add vermicelli and cook until light brown in color.
  • Lower the flame and add toasted nuts back to the hot pan...
  • Add coconut...
  • Add dry mawa powder, keep stirring...
  • Add chopped dates and mix well.
  • Add cardamom powder..
  • Add sugar...
  • Add half and half and milk ...
  • And mix it well.
  • Bring it to a boil and keep stirring, milk should not stick to the bottom of the pan.
  • Cover and let vermicelli soak in all the flavors. Garnish with nuts and saffron strands and serve.
